The Permanent Senate Commission on Animal Research (SKTF) is an expert panel of the German Research Foundation (DFG), which deals with current scientific developments as well as the complex legal and ethical framework of animal experiments and animal welfare in research. It provides advisory and supportive expertise to other committees, policymakers, federal authorities, as well as researchers at German universities and research institutions.
As an expert in Organ-on-Chip and Microphysiological Systems, Peter Loskill was appointed to the SKTF by the DFG on January 1st, 2024, and will henceforth support the commission with his expertise in replacement and complementary methods to animal experiments.
