On the 21st of February 2022, Dr. Dorothea Kliche-Behnke, deputy chair of the SPD parliamentary group in the Tübingen constituency, informed herself about the work of the 3R-Center Tübingen. current research at the NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute in Reutlingen and the Baden-Württemberg Innovation Alliance. A central point of discussion was the current status of alternative methods to animal experimentation and the discussion of which hurdles and challenges still need to be overcome on the way to animal-free research. Furthermore, the importance of the 3R-Network Baden-Württemberg, which still is unique in Germany so far, was discussed and in the course of this the chances of such an association for the research community, industry and politics were discussed.

We are very grateful for Dr. Kliche-Behnke‘s great interest and the stimulating exchange!
