THE 3R LÄND – Organoid Conference

18. März 2027 @ 12:30 - 20. März 2027 @ 15:30

From 18–20 March 2027, Ulm will host the THE 3R LÄND Conference 2027 / Org-BOOST International Organoid Meeting, bringing together researchers, clinicians, technology developers, industry partners and early-career scientists from across Europe and beyond. Under the theme “Organoids in Ulm, around Ulm, and all around Ulm”, the meeting will showcase the latest advances in organoids and other next-generation human model systems.

Organoids are transforming biomedical research by enabling more predictive and human-relevant studies of development, disease and therapeutic responses. At the same time, they play a key role in advancing the 3R principles by supporting the reduction, refinement and replacement of animal experiments.

The conference combines three complementary initiatives: the established THE 3R LÄND Conference, the new DFG-funded Research Training Group Org-BOOST (Organoid-Based mOdelling Of Solid Tumors), and POTENTIAL, the Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation-funded Physician Scientist School. Together, they create a unique platform at the interface of basic research, translational medicine and technological innovation.

Participants can look forward to an outstanding scientific programme featuring internationally renowned speakers and the latest developments in stem cell biology, organoid engineering, cancer models, organ-on-chip technologies, imaging, spatial biology, single-cell and multi-omics approaches, computational analytics and AI-guided disease modelling. The programme will also include selected abstract talks, poster sessions, networking opportunities and dedicated activities for early-career researchers.

With around 400 expected participants, the meeting offers an exceptional opportunity to exchange ideas, build collaborations and shape the future of human-relevant research models, from stem cells and organoids to organ-on-chip systems and AI-driven precision medicine.
