The KNAM20 Symposium in Konstanz marked two decades of scientific progress in the field of animal-free toxicology. The event was driven by the Doerenkamp-Zbinden Foundation Endowed Chair for In Vitro Toxicology and Biomedicine, the Johns Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT) , and an international network of experts.
The symposium brought together researchers from academia, industry, and regulatory organisations to discuss current developments in biomedical research, next-generation risk assessment, and the implementation of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs).
The 3R-Center Tübingen contributed to the scientific programme with a presentation by Peter Loskill. His talk addressed the transition from conventional cell culture models to microphysiological systems and their potential to improve the translational relevance of biomedical research.
