On July 19, 2024, we welcomed Holger Mann MdB and Dr. Martin Rosemann MdB to the 3R-Center Tübingen. During an in-depth exchange, topics such as the 3R principle, modern in vitro methods as alternatives and supplements to animal testing, as well as the amendment of the Animal Welfare Act, were discussed. The newly established Core Facility for Microphysiological Systems at the 3R-Center Tübingen was also presented, and its potential and opportunities were explored.

The dialogue between science and politics plays a key role in ensuring that political decisions are based on sound knowledge. When policymakers are informed about new scientific methods and technologies, they are better equipped to make well-founded, future-oriented decisions. This supports the integration of innovative approaches into policy frameworks and helps science and legislation work together to develop effective solutions to societal challenges. Continuous exchange strengthens the connection between both fields and promotes sustainable, responsible research policy.
We are pleased that such discussions help strengthen collaboration between science and politics, shaping the future of research in a responsible and sustainable way.
