What does responsible research look like in practice? The 3R-Center Tübingen showcased this last weekend at the Garden Show in Freudenstadt and Baiersbronn. At the Treffpunkt Baden-Württemberg pavilion, we joined forces with the 3R Network BW and other project partners from across Baden-Württemberg to present our work based on the 3R principles – Replace, Reduce, Refine.
Supported by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg, our goal was to engage directly with citizens. As the 3R-Center Tübingen, we focused on presenting Organ-on-Chip systems from our MicroOrganoLab, demonstrating how innovative alternatives to animal testing are shaping the future of biomedical research.
Why is public outreach so essential?
- It builds a bridge between science and society.
- It makes complex scientific topics understandable and accessible.
- It raises awareness—especially among young people—about ethical issues and sparks interest in biomedical sciences.
We sincerely thank all visitors for their curiosity, thoughtful questions, and inspiring discussions. Your openness and interest motivate us to continue our work with dedication and transparency.
