Dr. Pauline Jeckel takes over as Head of the 3R-Center Tübingen
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Pauline Jeckel has taken over as Head of the 3R-Center Tübingen Business Unit as of October 2025.
Pauline studied Life Sciences at the University of Heidelberg. She then pursued a Master’s degree in neurobiology at the University of Tübingen. In 2018, Pauline started her PhD in the field of molecular neurobiology at the NMI in Reutlingen. Her doctoral thesis focused on the receptor tyrosine kinase Met as an autism spectrum disorder risk factor, which regulates the organisation of inhibitory synapses through mTOR activation.
While working on her PhD project, Pauline continued her education in science journalism. After completing her doctorate, her passion for making scientific topics accessible and understandable to a broad audience led her to join the Press and Public Relations Department at the NMI, where she was able to combine her scientific expertise with journalistic work.
Furthermore Pauline gained experience in marketing through the ‘THE LÄND’ campaign for the state of Baden-Württemberg, as well as in corporate communications within an industrial setting.
Dr. Pauline Jeckel joined the 3R-Center for In Vitro Models and Animal Testing Alternatives as a postdoctoral researcher in July 2025. In her new role as the head of the 3R-Center Business Unit, she will promote closer collaboration between academia, industry and society to advance the development and implementation of human-relevant models and expand our Organ-on-Chip training portfolio further. Pauline will also represent the Center within the 3R-Netzwerk Baden-Württemberg, thereby contributing to stronger regional and national collaboration within the field.
Our warmest congratulations to Dr. Pauline Jeckel on her new role. We look forward to shaping the future together!
